In a world brimming with noise and distractions, finding a sense of purpose and achieving our dreams often feels like a distant mirage. Yet, in the latest episode of the “Own Your Awesome” podcast, host Miranda Von Frickin offers a profound and compelling argument on how prayer has the power to transform our lives and help us achieve whatever we desire. Drawing from her own experiences of loss, faith, and resilience, Miranda walks us through the miraculous possibilities that prayer can unlock.

The Power of Prayer in Dark Times

Miranda starts by opening up about the profound losses she has experienced. Tragically, she lost two brothers—Jack to an accident five years ago and Vinny recently to COVID-related heart complications. Over the course of these difficult years, she faced not only personal loss but also professional setbacks, including losing jobs and clients. During this tumultuous period, Miranda candidly shares how she even lost her faith.

However, it was prayer that helped her reclaim the strength to move forward. Regardless of one’s religious inclinations, Miranda emphasizes the universal power of speaking out loud what we wish to manifest in our lives. She insists that articulating what’s on your heart, whether or not you believe in a higher power, is essential to materializing your dreams.

Instant Gratification vs. Long-Term Fulfillment

Miranda provides a fascinating anecdote from her own life where a simple prayer was answered within seconds. Amid her morning routine, Miranda prayed for more time to realign her day after a particularly lazy day before. Miraculously, her single meeting for the day was postponed, giving her the space she needed.

This moment, although seemingly trivial, is pivotal in understanding the complex nature of prayer and manifestation. As Miranda mentions, not all prayers are answered swiftly. Some require years of unwavering faith and persistent action. Miranda likens this to swallowing a magic pill for six years to get your dream body. Wouldn’t you do it if you knew it would work? The same principle applies to achieving your dreams—consistent prayer and effort lead to eventual fulfillment.

The Imperative of Action

One essential takeaway from Miranda’s podcast is the compelling need for action. Prayer alone isn’t enough. Just as buying a lottery ticket is crucial to winning, taking actionable steps toward your dreams is indispensable. Miranda urges listeners to marry their prayers with tangible actions. It’s this confluence of faith and work that creates miracles.

Miranda also robustly supports the idea of a “divine board of directors.” For her, this includes God, her close friends, and even people who have yet to enter her life but will inevitably contribute to her journey. This board acts as a spiritual and motivational support system, helping her stay aligned with her mission.

Embracing Your Calling

Owning your awesome, as Miranda beautifully articulates, is fundamentally about understanding your true calling. Whether that’s through prayer or other spiritual practices, discovering your life’s purpose is essential for personal and professional success. We all arrive on this Earth with a predefined mission, but it requires peeling away layers of societal conditioning, personal trauma, and life’s myriad distractions to reveal it.

For Miranda, this journey has involved significant grief and loss, but it has also led her to a place of greater clarity and purpose. Helping women discover their calling and strategize a life that fulfills it is her ultimate passion. She insists that once you’re aligned with your true self, everything else—money, love, opportunities—will naturally follow.

Conclusion: Turning Pain into Purpose

Miranda’s compelling message reminds us that prayer isn’t just a religious act but a powerful tool for personal transformation. By consistently praying for and working toward our desires, we can achieve anything our hearts aspire to. Her journey from loss and despair to renewed faith and purpose exemplifies this transformative power.

Whether you’re struggling to find your calling or feeling disconnected from your purpose, adopting a daily practice of prayer could be the key to unlocking your ultimate potential. As Miranda continues to inspire her listeners, her story serves as a testament that even amidst the greatest darkness, there is always a path to light and fulfillment.

Miranda [00:00:01]:
What if I told you all you had to do to achieve everything you’ve ever wanted was pray? Today, I wanna talk about a little higher calling when it comes to owning our awesome. Thank you so much for joining me. I’m Miranda Von Frickin, the host of Own Your Awesome podcast. And I’ve been through some shit. It has been a month or so, maybe even a little more, since I’ve recorded. And if you know me or follow me on any of the social sites, you know why. My family had a second tragic loss, in August. We lost my little brother, Vinny.

Miranda [00:00:51]:
It is now confirmed COVID related heart failure. More details to that, of course, but that’s the sum of it. And as tragic as it is, it doesn’t replace the tragedy 5 years ago or override it when we lost my other brother, Jack, to an accident. And when I say I’ve been through some shit, clearly, those two losses are the biggest part of it. But I’ve also been I’ve also had loss in other areas. Not so much recently, but over the course of that 5 years, I’ve lost 4 jobs. I’ve lost clients. I’ve lost friends.

Miranda [00:01:43]:
I’ve lost my faith. But almost all of it has returned to me through the power of prayer. And that’s what I wanna talk to you about today. You don’t have to love Jesus. You don’t have to be a Christian. You don’t have to follow any religion. What I want to talk to you today about is the power of speaking out loud what it is you want for your life, how you wanna feel, who you wanna become, maybe the things and the people and the opportunities you wanna call in. Now if you love Jesus like I do, you know it’s gonna give it some power.

Miranda [00:02:27]:
But even if you’re not there where I am, still speaking out loud, what it is you have on your heart is a game changer. It’s the key. It’s the cheat code. It’s the secret. You name it. It’s all of those things rolled up to 1. So the question I asked when we first got together in the show was, what if I told you you could have everything you wanted through prayer? And, obviously, you would be like, uh-huh. Prove it.

Miranda [00:03:10]:
I’m literally recording this episode 20 minutes after it was just proven to me. Now, I’ve had tons of prayers answered. I’ve had tons of prayers, probably even more unanswered. I’m not yet a Mega Millions winner. I don’t have the Powerball jackpot winning ticket yet. And I do say yet. I don’t have, you know, some of the things, quote, unquote, material things that I’ve prayed for. And there are some bigger opportunities that have yet to come my way that I’ve been praying for forever.

Miranda [00:03:44]:
So do prayers work? Hell, yeah. The reason I say that is because not everything we want is for us, but the things that are for us are the things that will come to us. So I I feel like the Joker with the whole riddle me this thing. Alright. That’s the word there. Gotta love a live podcast. Alright. So here’s here’s where I’m getting with this.

Miranda [00:04:10]:
20 minutes ago, I was in my morning routine praying as usual, for all the things happening in the world. Then I brought it a little more local into my area, and then into my home, and then into my heart. I usually start big, worldly, and then bring it to center, which is me and my heart and how I feel and how I can make a difference in all those bigger areas. And yesterday, I had wasted some time. I had made some not so great decisions. More of just being lazy. Let’s be honest. Yesterday, I was quite lazy.

Miranda [00:04:47]:
And I today, I’m feeling the results of being quite lazy. And I prayed, of course, to forgive myself for being lazy and to make, you know, maybe some not so great food choices that made me feel yucky and lethargic. And so I slept in today, missed my workout. It’s a whole thing. I only had one call on my calendar today for a LinkedIn, rebranding profile reboot situation. And as much as I’m obsessed with doing those, I said to God in one of in a part of my prayer, God, if we can just get this lady to cancel. Sounds crazy. I know.

Miranda [00:05:26]:
If we could just get her to cancel or postpone I really don’t want her to cancel. Like, I can’t wait to work with her. If we can get her to postpone, it would give me back the opportunity, the time to continue my morning routine, to get back on track. Because there’s a part in my morning routine where it clicks. Where I’m like, yep. I got this. And there’s definitely parts leading up to it, but sometimes it’s just I still feel blah from the night before or just not getting enough sleep. But there was a moment where I was like, if this could happen, I know I could get to that part where it clicks, where I’ve got my energy back and the day is mine, and I’m gonna crush it.

Miranda [00:06:06]:
And not literally 30 seconds later, this woman DM’d me on LinkedIn and said, hey. I can’t wait to work with you, but I need to postpone. And I was like, you are showing off right now, God. Like, he often shows off in my life. He shows up all the time, but showing off is, like, a step further. And I’m like, I literally didn’t even put a period at the end of that prayer, and I received what I asked for. Now some may say I’m psychic. Nobody says that.

Miranda [00:06:36]:
But some may say that, you know, I felt it coming. So I you know, putting it out there was just because I sensed it. That actually does happen to me a lot. They’re not premonitions or anything as cool as that, but I can often say something and it’ll happen, or something will happen. I’ll be like, yo, didn’t I say that, like, 2 weeks ago? Like, I literally said this was gonna happen. And for whatever reason, I it’s instinctual. And my intuitive coach, Jessica, would absolutely say it’s my instincts, so it’s my guides telling me it’s gonna happen, giving me the heads up, warning me ahead of time. But I prayed for it to happen, and it did 20 seconds later.

Miranda [00:07:11]:
And I was like, o m g. Now I need to pray for that Powerball ticket because I then I gotta go buy it. Right? The point here is because, apparently, I’m excited to talk to you guys again. It’s it’s been so long, and it’s been on my heart to come back and do the show, but I just hadn’t felt the energy yet, the spiritual energy to to talk and to pour into other people quite yet, on this scale. But, apparently, I do today, so you’re welcome. And thank you because I I’m just I’m so excited to sit in my spot on the couch in front of the window, doing my devotionals, pouring into you as god pours into me. And it’s just it’s coming through me to you. Here we go.

Miranda [00:07:57]:
So the question I posed earlier was, would you believe me if I said, you know, everything you wanted was essentially a prayer way? And the answer is obviously, yes. It is one prayer way. It could be a 1000000 prayers away, to be honest. But what if I said, you will get everything you pray for. It just may not happen in the time you want it to happen. So it’s weird coming from me because I just told you that 20 seconds later, god answered a prayer for me. Sometimes it does happen instantly, just like that. 20 seconds later, you get a DM, you get a call, You know, somebody pulls up and knocks on your door or, you know, somebody walks in and says exactly what you need them to say in the office.

Miranda [00:08:45]:
But sometimes, it takes years. Sometimes, what we’re looking to achieve, even if we put it out into the world, we pray it, put it on our vision board, create posts about it on LinkedIn, tell everyone of your friends and family members that this is gonna happen. You’re gonna make it work. This is meant for you. Sometimes, it takes years to actually come true. And there’s that small bit that says, in parentheses, at the end of that sentence, if at all. So my challenge to you is, of course, to to pray for every single thing you desire and who you need to become in order to achieve those things. And then follow through with those things and take action on them because I’m never gonna win the lottery if I don’t buy the ticket.

Miranda [00:09:43]:
I mean, that’s corny example, but it’s pretty it’s a pretty clear and obvious statement. No one’s winning the lottery unless they buy the ticket. Right? Like, obviously or somebody buys it for us. But if I’m going to win it, it’s gotta be my ticket. If somebody else buys it for me, it’s partially theirs. Let’s be honest. You gotta share it. So if you’re out there listening and you know and you know where I live or you know how to find me, buy me a lottery ticket.

Miranda [00:10:07]:
I’m here for it. I will share it with you if we win. I need you to hear this closely. Everything you’ve ever desired or anything that’s on your heart is meant for you. You have to pray for it. You have to ask for it. You have to command it. You have to tell the universe, God, source, your spirit guides, whoever you feel called to communicate with that’s above and outside of you, but still within you.

Miranda [00:10:39]:
You have to communicate. That’s your desire every single day. Never fail. Continue like it is your job to pray about it. This podcast is a 100% made to pour into you all of the goodness that I often feel through God, through prayer, through my relationship with Jesus. This isn’t a Christian podcast, but y’all know me. Again, I love me some Jesus. So when I’m feeling very called to speak this out loud, to to urge anyone who’s listening, to hear what I’m saying, hear the words, take them to heart, take them to prayer, and know that everything that’s in your heart that you feel called to is meant for you.

Miranda [00:11:33]:
You may not be able to achieve it alone. The odds are very slim that you’re gonna achieve it alone. So first and foremost, I need you to pray on it. Because if you pray for it, then god hears you. He knows you’re serious about what it is you desire. And then take action. Move forward here on Earth. Do the things you need to do.

Miranda [00:11:56]:
Pray about the plan. Pray about the strategy. Ask God to be with you. Thank him for being with you. Thank him for the strategy. Praise him for the outcome, whether you’re seeing it today or not. But if I literally said, if you take this magic pill, you will achieve your dreams, but it’s gonna take 6 years of you swallowing this pill to achieve it. Would you swallow that pill? I think I would.

Miranda [00:12:26]:
If someone said to me, you’re gonna get your abs back that you had in high school if you drink this potion or if you swallow this pill, but you gotta do it for 6 years or you gotta do it for 10 years, religiously take this pill every single morning, you will absolutely have those abs you’ve been desiring. You better believe I’d be taking that pill, and I may take 2 if it was healthy for me, if it wouldn’t hurt me. There’s nothing painful or unhealthy about prayer. So if you need to double down on your prayer life, maybe you can cut that 6 to 10 years into 3 to 6 years. I’m just saying. I mean, test me. Test me. Like, come back to me 6 years later and tell me you don’t have all of your dreams that you’ve desired from today’s today’s thought achieved.

Miranda [00:13:14]:
You have to pray for it. You have to ask for it. You have to call in your divine board of directors. For me, that’s God. It’s my biz besties. It’s the people that God has yet to even bring into my life. God is so good, and he wants everything for you that you want for yourself. Maybe not the Prada bag.

Miranda [00:13:35]:
I’m sure he’s beyond that. But I’m telling you, if you want that Prada bag, you go work for it, girl, and you go get it. He wants you to fulfill the call in your heart that before you came to this Earth, you said, I’m on a mission to do x. What is x for you, and will you pray for it without ceasing until it happens? That’s my challenge for you today. Find me on Instagram. I’m at Miranda dot von Frickin. Find me on LinkedIn. I’m Miranda von Frickin.

Miranda [00:14:11]:
Let’s talk about this. Let’s continue the conversation around prayer and how it will help you to achieve whatever that thing is you feel called to achieve, whether it’s to serve your community, whether it’s to make a $1,000,000, whether it’s to invent a widget that’s gonna change the planet, whether it is to write the book, whether it is to create the retreat that you’ve always wanted to create, whether it’s to get a new job, get promoted, start that business, what is it that’s on your heart, and are you praying about it consistently? That is my challenge for you today. If you don’t know what those things are, if you don’t have something on your heart that you feel called to pray about, that you want so deeply, you’re gonna ask God to give to you or thank him for already bringing it into your world, if you have no clue what that is, you just know you need to find it. We should talk too. It is my lot in life, besides embarrassing my daughter on Snapchat, to help women find their calling, to reveal it. We already know what it is. We came to Earth knowing what we were meant to do. Sometimes, the heaviness of the world overpowers our calling, our knowing.

Miranda [00:15:36]:
And we need to peel away at it, like an onion, peeling away the layers of grief, of loss, of pain, of trauma, of bullshit, of bullying, of corporate cynicism or corporate toxicity. We need to peel that stuff away in order to find and remember why we’re here. And that is what I’m but as it that is my calling. Bottom line is to help you peel away all those things to get to your true calling and then create a strategy to live it out. I’m not here to help you make $1,000,000 in your business, but let’s be honest. If you’re living your calling, money is gonna follow. If you’re living your calling, love is gonna follow. If you’re living your calling, friends, family, the right people, the opportunity doors are gonna open like crazy.

Miranda [00:16:35]:
If you know exactly who you are and who you’re meant to be and why you’re on this earth and nothing’s gonna stop you, that’s why we’re here, to figure it out. And I’m definitely one to help you do that. So I’m pumped for this conversation. I wanna continue it on all the social sites. You’ll if you’re on my email list, you’re gonna get an email about this because I’m just I’m fired up about it. I’m fired up about using the pain that I’ve suffered lately for something good because I I can’t I can no longer sit in the part of grief that holds me back. I’m gonna use the grief. I’m going to transfer it into fuel.

Miranda [00:17:20]:
I’m going to pray to God. I’m going to talk to my brothers. I’m going to love on them as if they’re still here, and I’m going to do something good in this world with their help. And maybe this is just the start. So if you’re with me, if you wanna join this crazy crusade of finding our calling and living it out to change your life, the lives or the people around you and your world, the world in general. I’m here to help, and I’d love to continue this conversation. Find me on all the social sites. Thank you for listening.

Miranda [00:17:57]:
